Introducing the Weather family:

- Mother Sun who provides warmth and love.
- Father Land who accumulates warmth and guides his children Rain and Wind.
- Brother Wind who chases Rain all around.
- Sister Rain who waters Land with her tears.
In mid winter when it is cold, Sun is lower and doesn’t stay so long. Rain turns into frost and snow and covers and decorates the plants on Land.

When Rain falls asleep she is lifted and floated on a cloud that covers Land like a blanket. She is white and hazy in the beginning, just like a Stratus cloud. As she floats to her mother Sun she is thin, wispy and shows her curls. Just like a Cirrus cloud.

Whenever she sinks to her father, Land, she gets Cumulus and puffy, just like a cotton ball. There are times when she is torn and wants to go both to her mother and to her father. Then she gets pulled from the top to the bottom, is very dark, and cries a lot.
Depending on how high she is, she wakes up either as rain or snow and falls on Land. She plays with Wind and makes him all wet. Sometimes she runs to Sun and leaves Wind dry. She often has wet dreams where she is half asleep and half awake. She then gets very excited and turns into a thunder cloud. Wind enters her till she cries. Wind goes crazy and juggles her tears like he was juggling balls.

Each time her tears get thrown back up, they freeze and add another layer of ice, until they become harder and bigger and turn to Hail. When they get too big and heavy for Wind, they fall and land on Land.

Rain gets so excited when Wind rubs her and juggles her hails, that she flashes like lightning and groans like thunder.

When cloud sinks and rests on Land they call her fog.

When she mixes with Wind who has just played in dirt, they call her smog.

When Wind rushes along Land, he picks up clouds and caries them wherever Land guides and directs him. Humans called that a cold front and color it blue when the air is cold, or a warm front and color it red when the air is warm.

When Wind blows straight down onto Land, he blows clouds away so that Land can be warmed by Sun. Humans call that a high, or a clear and sunny day.
When Wind sucks straight up, he sucks in clouds from all directions so that Land can be washed and covered by clouds. When the air rises, it cools and the moisture in it condenses out as rain or snow. Humans call that a low or a depression, because they get depressed on rainy days.

When Wind blows around in a circle, he ploughs Land like a farmer ploughs his fields. Humans call that a tornado, or a hurricane if it is large.

Rain and Wind played a game called Erosion that really wore down and aged their father Land. They gave Land all his wrinkles and made him go bald. Especially when Wind had just played in his sand box and was full of sand.
Sand was also used by humans who melted it into SiO2 and called it Glass. They used Glass to build greenhouses that let light from Sun pass thru to heat the ground and to capture heat inside by blocking heat from passing back out.
Humans ate and broke down plants into CO2 called Carbon dioxide. Planet Earth uses CO2 as a blanket that let light from Sun pass thru to heat Land, and to keep Land warm by blocking heat from passing back out like it was a pane of glass.

Our family often goes away for vacations. Sometimes we visit Northern Lights or Aurora as we affectionately called her for short. We fly to the North Pole and go very high up in the sky and play with the cosmic showers sent from our mom Sun.

When we get too cold, we go south to the Caribbean to collect some heat and warm up. When we collect enough heat, we hike all the way back up north on the trail we call the Gulf Stream.
